As an attorney, Crystal has focused her practice on meeting the needs of clients in the justice gap, who cannot typically afford the legal services that they need to survive and prosper. Knowing that Texas legal charities could not meet the need for this kind of affordable legal work by themselves, she built a female-focused law practice that serves women through a combination of affordable fees, legal insurance, and pro bono volunteering. Crystal’s clients know her as a fighter who, caring about their cases as much as they do, is never afraid of an honest day’s work.
Drawn to caring professions,
Crystal has always found herself helping others maximize the benefit of limited resources.
Before starting her law firm, she worked as an attorney advisor for the Obama Administration, where she helped disaster survivors rebuild their lives. Through AmeriCorps, she also worked for the Family Gateway homeless shelter in Downtown Dallas, where she lead a summer camp and an after-school camp for homeless youth.
Working in the service of others has taught her to lead by listening.
Crystal was raised in the town of Sachse, just outside Dallas. She was the first person in her family to graduate from high school in the traditional way, both of her parents quit school by the age of 16, but earned their diplomas through a vocational program. Her blue collar home was known for its neighborly, open-door attitude where friends and family were welcome to share their joys and sorrows over a glass of cold sweet tea. Her family’s hard working and good-hearted nature taught Crystal to be a proud Texas Democrat.
Crystal Fletcher is a graduate of the University of North Texas. She earned her law degree from the Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and is licensed in the State of Texas.
